Water Drainage and Fence Construction at New Bugesera International Airport

Project Overview

United Belt Ltd was awarded a significant civil engineering contract for water drainage and fence construction works at the New Bugesera International Airport — one of Rwanda’s most ambitious infrastructure projects. The works were carried out under contract with Mota Engil Africa and represented a major milestone in United Belt’s civil engineering portfolio. The Managing Director, Eng. Juvenal Muhozakeye, had previously served on the same project since January 2018 as HYBRID Engineer responsible for Civil Work in the Section of Drainage, bringing deep firsthand knowledge of the project to United Belt’s execution.

IMPLEMENTATION APPROACH

United Belt executed all drainage engineering and fence construction works across the designated sections of the airport project. The team applied deep civil engineering expertise and on-site execution capabilities to deliver works totaling over RWF 1.4 billion, meeting the strict technical standards required for a world-class international airport infrastructure project. Materials were sourced and managed carefully to ensure sustainability and timely delivery throughout the project period.
